Known as India’s queen of soap operas, she’s the youngest on the list. Her Bombay Stock Exchange-listed Balaji Telefilms is a top producer of popular TV serials and blockbuster Bollywood movies. Her father, Jeetendra, was a Bollywood star, as is her brother Tusshar. She dropped out of college in 1994 and began working in her father’s film production outfit, before setting up Balaji, naming it after the family deity. As joint managing director, she’s the company’s creative brain. (Her father is chairman and her mother, Shobha, is managing director.)
